[The feed opens to show Marcia in the room she's staying at in Cherrygrove. It seems she's sitting at a desk, as there's a view of her bed in the background over her shoulder. On the bed is an egg, which if anyone remembers Marcia's last post, might be a little surprising. As someone who seemed so adamant on not raising any of these creatures, it's a little hypocritical of her to have an egg.]
I have, as of yesterday, arrived in the town called Cherrygrove.
[She sounds rather unimpressed as she says the name. For as difficult as the journey had been for her, she had expected something a little more... more.]
On my journey, I had the misfortune of being attacked several times by the wild creatures that live out there. I have a very hard time believing these creatures enjoy battling, but I can't deny that Lapras seemed perkier than normal after they were over.
[Not... that Marcia had contributed much to the battle. A frantic and confused "Defend yourself!" command and Lapras did all of the work.]
It's leading me to believe that I ought to rethink my opinion on battling. Don't get me wrong, I think it's completely barbaric and more than a little ridiculous, but... Well.
When in Rome, I suppose.
[And she can't deny that on some level, it was exhilarating, but she won't say that out loud.]
So a question or two before I wrap this up. First, is there anything worthwhile to see in this little city? It seems dreadfully boring and I'm not sure I can handle being here for longer than necessary. New Bark Town had been just as boring, to be sure, but now that I've traveled, I'm a little less reluctant to leave quickly.
I don't want to travel without a specific destination in mind, so my biggest question is, does Johto have a library anywhere? I don't mean a dainty little thing with a few dusty old books, I'm looking for a large one that might actually be useful.
That's all I h- oh, wait. [She seems to remember something and looks over her shoulder towards the egg sitting on her bed.] One last question- is anyone familiar with the creature called "Abra"? I recently acquired an egg and I would like to know what to expect.
[With that, she gives a small nod to the screen and reaches out to turn it off.]

Goldenrod City has a very good library, ma'am! I used to work there.
[Not that she can see, since this is just text, but she's actually talking to a Pokemon. A Yamask, to be precise. He can't speak english aloud, but he was a librarian in his past life and he's able to write.]
[text]
If Marcia were to know she was talking to a Pokemon, however, it's likely she would not be indulging in this conversation at all. Or at least, very reluctantly.]
Goldenrod. Thank you, I will be sure to mark it on my map and make my way there as quickly as possible. Do they have books containing information on Johto or Kanto? Is there anything that might suggest how to get home?
[text]
Yes, there is a wide variety of books about Johto and Kanto, although the Ecruteak branch specializes more in legends if that's what you're interested in.
As for getting home, I'm afraid not. People only started showing up from other worlds a few years ago, and nobody is really sure what makes people leave. So there's been nothing published on it yet.
Re: [text]
I thought as much, but one could only hope. Still, I hope if I were to dig deep enough that I might find something. Always worth a shot, despite the naysayers.

As for a Trainer's Manual, I'm sure there would be something! And there will certainly be books about type matchups. I've never really been much for training or battling myself, but there ought to be a whole section about it. It's a very important part of this world.
And I wish you luck in finding anything about that. There are always new books coming out!
[text]
Ah, but yes, thank you. If nothing else, learning about the typing will at least prove useful. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around some of these weaknesses, they make little sense.
[text]
There really are a lot of types, but most of the strengths and weaknesses do make sense when you think about them. There are some books that theorize on the subject. I'd offer to explain, but I don't know how much help I'd be. As I said, I don't battle much.
[text]
Believe me, I've thought about it long and hard and I can't figure out why
[Hold on, she has to look in her manual to make sure she's getting the term right.]
the Psychic types are weak against Bug types. It makes no sense- if we're to assume Psychics are similar in part to humans, and I believe they are as I've noticed a lot of them are vaguely humanoid, then why would they be weak? I could crush a bug under my foot easily.
And don't even get me started on how they are weak against Dark types, either.
[text]
They also don't like Ghost-types, probably for that same reason. And I suppose humans can be afraid of bugs, too.
Really I don't know why anyone wouldn't be afraid of Dark types, they're terrible!
[...well there are a few exceptions on Envy's team, but they still make this little bitty ghost type nervous.]
[text]
I take it you're afraid of the dark, however? You wouldn't have such a problem with it if you would carry a light with you at all times.
[text]
I could try that, I guess. And a lot of dark types don't really like light being shined in their eyes.
[text] I keep forgetting my html color code so just pretend it's purple
If thinking about it like that helps you to be brave, then by all means, think like that. You seem rather afraid of them yourself. Are dark types hard to avoid here?
